By The Tide~Sold M.E.!

When I first saw the stamp set "By the Tide" it was actually SUPER easy for me to just pass it right by.  'It's not my style' I thought.  I hardly ever get to the beach it's really the opposite of my lifestyle, not that I don't sometimes wish it was but living in the midwest I'm more trees, grass and livestock instead of sand, water and marine life! LOL

Recently I saw a card...somewhere (we will talk about that in a minute) and it sold me on this stamp set and immediately I had to have it but since I knew it wouldn't be a mainstay in my stamping repertoire I wanted it for FREE or at least a discount.

I really do love Pinterest don't you?  I think this time though Pinterest took advantage of me!  LOL  I have spent a lot of time looking on my boards and even other stampers boards to find the card that drew me to this stamp set in the first place. First so I could refresh my memory on the card and secondly to give credit. Darn if I can't find it anywhere. I think my version that was hazy in my head turned out pretty good!

I guess I have to stop taking Pinterest for granted.  Just because I see an idea or recipe somewhere doesn't mean it automatically goes on my boards. (that comes in the future I guess)  Like me on Pinterest to see many ideas I actually did pin! ;-)

That's the Ticket~Your Ticket for LOVE!

Look at all the fun goodies on it.  You can see after I took the picture above and I was zooming in for a close-up I thought "gee that card really needs something else" and so I added the little pearl inside the heart.  Just what it needed to look finished in my opinion.

Betsy's Blossoms~Just for you!

I love this new set called Betsy's Blossoms out of the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  Recently I was in a big swap with other demonstrators in our upline,sideline, downline.  We have a HUGE group from all over the country.  Lots of very talented demonstrators that's for sure!  I picked so many favorites from these swap cards.  I used 4 "tweeked" designs for my Forget Me Not cardkeeper class this week. Tweeked because I like to make it my own.  But don't get me wrong the basic design is usually not changed much.

This card was one of them.  I used a design by my friend Rachel Chamberlain and changed it only a little.  My youngest daughter Abby suggested a yellow "sun" by the bird (she's full of great ideas) which of course required that I add the daffodil bow (Rachels was white which was cute but I wanted to use new ribbon ;-)  I had to change the colors around a little, not because I wasn't in love with what Rachel did, but, mostly because I had already accounted for the colors she used with another card and since I do my class in stations I had to make a change.  I love these bright colors too! Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, Calypso Coral and the new Primrose Petals.  Add a phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes and you have the perfect card!

 

Quick & Easy~You can't make just ONE!

Last week I did an hour long demonstration at a Christian Senior Living Facility in the area. This was not for the residents although some did come to watch, but it was for the volunteers that help in the home. They had a craft fair going on at the same time along with a nice luncheon for the group. Well, needless to say I had a lot of fun showing the big group of ladies all about Stampin' Up! And I KNOW they had fun because they didn't want me to stop demonstrating for them!  As I told them about all the products we carry I heard one of them proclaim..."Stampin' Up! really does have everything!" Not only everything but high quality everything or I wouldn't still be a demonstrator 9 years later or a customer 15 years later!

I wanted to make sure my projects were quick and simple so I came up with this adorable card using the Posy Punch hostess set from the Idea Book & Catalog. This would be a great card for me to demonstrate at your workshop this month. It's one of those cards that you can create multiples of quickly to have on hand to encourage someone or to just say Hello!

 

I liked the way it turned out so well we made it at this months Forget-Me-Not card keeper class and those gals loved it too!  Sometimes it's the easier cards that just grab our attention the most. Here Kitty, Kitty~Black Cat, a sure sign Halloween is near!

It's almost October so that means our Holiday Rampage is about to start. YAY!  We start with Halloween so this is a little Halloween inpiration for you.  We made this card at my September Forget Me Not Card Keeper Class.  It's an easel card using the "out on a limb" (#123822 wood or #123824 clear) from the Holiday Mini catalog.  Note the dazzling diamonds glowing on the halloween clouds. That's what really makes this card fun!  We cut our little black halloween cat out and sat him upon a Designer Series Paper fence.  So cute!

It's not in the name~telescoping or yo-yo card

As designers we are always on the lookout for new styles of cards. Whether it's a fancy fold or this completely different round-style card. I have seen it called a telescoping card but the other night when I presented it at my monthly Forget-me-not card keeper class one of the gals (Hi Janet!) called it a yo-yo card and I loved it!

 

We used the new Spice Cake Designer Series Paper and the set Gently Falling.  The base scallop is More Mustard and the ribbon is the adorable ruffled ribbon in the coordinating Pool Party color.  I surprisingly love this color combination.  It's not something I would normally have put together but it's very attractive to me in the Spice Cake paper. What do you think of this paper showcased in the Holiday Mini Catalog?

A few short years ago, btBS (before the Big Shot), this card would have been so difficult to create and even harder to duplicate.  Cutting, drawing, tracing, cutting, cutting, figuring, cutting, calculating phew....well you get my point.  Now it's as easy as putting a circle or scallop circle die on the Big Shot and running the paper through it. I love my Big Shot! No measuring, no calculating on what size circle cut we need with the circle cutter.  Easy Peasy lemony squeazy... and to top that off you can cut multiple circles at once.  I can cut up to 8 layers of circles at a time with the Bigz die which would mean 4 cards at once if cutting the inside and Designer Series paper layers together or 8 cards if you cut each layer separately.  That's awesome if you ask me.  Here is the inside of the card and the reason we call it a telescoping card. Cool huh?

We finished off the inside with some Rock n Roll.  Rock n Roll technique that is.  We inked it in More Mustard then rocked in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  Delicious!!

Watermelon~Don't Swallow the Seeds

I received a swap at the Stampin' Up! convention last month that intrigued me.  I was not super excited with the card as a whole because to me it lacked a little something.  A greeting for one but what I was intrigued by was a little watermelon image on the card and I loved the colors! This is how I get inspired. It used one of our new punches and I could see the possibilties in it.  So I did what I usually do when I need to be inspired I got on a terrific resource available to me as a Demonstrator called Stampin' Connection.  It's chock full of samples, thousands and thousands actually.  I just searched watermelon and hundreds of samples came up.  Most were nothing like I was looking for but one was very cute. A card by demonstrator Jenny Medcalf.  I changed the colors around, added a ribbon and a few "seeds" of my own and this is the card I came up with for last weeks Forget-Me-Not card class.  The ladies loved it!  Such a summery card to send to someone who just needs a smile. 

Button Buddies~You can't deny it's simplicity!

I have only just begun to play with this set.  I am seeing the possibilities already!  Of course I know Stampin' Up! has such beautiful buttons already and now to have this cute little set to showcase some of them.  Oh yes, it's going to be fun "playing around" with it.  Here is my first sample using the set. 

 

So why did I say something about it's simplicity in the title?  It's because really with just a stamp and a cute little button you have an adorable project you will be proud to send to someone.  Although you can step it up with punching and embellishing it's not necessary to make it work.  Watch for more samples using this set coming soon.  I can already see it spending a lot of time on my desk this year!

Bouquet Bunch~Pots full of flowers

Here is card number 4 from my Forget me Not class this week.  I have to say I did a lot of copying this week for my class since I had been layed up but this card is mine and I kinda like it.  <giggle>  I love the new texture folder from Stampin' Up! it is featured in the Summer Mini Catalog.  Nice Deep impressions.  Very fun to run your fingers over this card.

 I love to watercolor but found out last night, my customers not so much.  So I will be putting together a Watercoloring 101 class soon for anyone interested in learning more about watercoloring.  I guess I forget there is a lot to learn about light sources and techniques.  Although this card is very simple.

I love the addition of the little crushed curry birdie perched on the pot.  He is the reason I could use the Crushed Curry cardstock on the card.  Needed that third color addition.   This card featured the new set Bouquet Bunches in the Summer mini Catalog.  To order your set click on my signature below.
