Yesterday while I was "quickly" browsing online I noticed a simple card that I was inspired by. Often times I am inspired by others artwork. I can't remember where I saw this card but I have seen other samples all a little different so I feel confident that mine is an original since I only took a quick look, was inspired and then made it my own. The original card was completely different colors with much more punching detail. I wanted to go Monochromatic on this card AND keep it fast and simple! My two goals when creating this card and I believe I was successful!
I started with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Tulipe die. That is what the heart means in the Idea book & catalog. It's exclusive to Stampin' Up! You can only purchase this die from Stampin' Up!
I have to admit I have had this die for awhile and had to cut it open to use it. But now I am totally in love with it and see lots of possibilities.
Here is the card I came up with. I love browns unlike my little sister Janet who HATES brown. She is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in my group but lives near Chicago, about 2.5 hours from here. She is a bold brights lover while I usually steer away from them unless I am making a kids card or sometimes a summer card. Like I said yesterday we are all different, that's what makes us unique artists!
I think you can see what I did. I ran my top layer of Soft Suede cardstock through the Big Shot cutting out the Tulipe die and then placed some matching DSP behind it. This paper came from the Write Stuff Specialty paper pack #115674. Before placing the Specialty paper behind the cut image I sponged Soft Suede ink around the edges of the cut out portions of the image just to help it pop a little. I wrapped some Soft Suede Polka-side (I mean Polka dot) ribbon around it! (that slip was an inside joke for my fellow demonstrators at the Spring into Stamping event! <grin>)
I layered it all on a Kraft cardstock base and stamped the greeting from the Occassions mini catalog called "Well Scripted" #117072 Wood or #118601 if you prefer Clear mount. This stampset is only available until the end of April so don't forget to order yours it's a very versatile greeting set.
This was definitely an under 5 minute card that could be made in duplicate or different colors and left without a greeting to be added as the occassion arises. Wouldn't you love to have a stack of cards that you complete in just one sitting that you can have ready to go in just minutes for any occassion? This just might be that card.
