"Something Lacy"~To Make a Girl Feel Like a Girl

Lace with some hearts, ribbon, doilies, bling-bling, what gal wouldn't love that? I know I would! This week I am going to focus a few posts on the stamp set called "Something Lacy".  It is a background stamp but why not put it in the foreground in this fun inspirational idea by stamping it on a window sheet and making a window in your card?

I cut the window in the Pink Pirouette Card base with the Square Framelits. Then used the same Framelits to cut the window sheet and frame to hold the window sheet on the card.  Stamp "Something Lacy" with White Stazon onto the Window Sheet. This card is then embellished to the "nines".  Add whatever fun pieces you have sitting on your desk.  Ribbon scraps, doily pieces, buttons, bows and glitter.  The products I used are listed below in the Product List.  

Lastly I finished it off by coloring the "Something Borrowed" embellishment with a matching Blendability.  Remember you can color most embellishments with our Blendabilities because they are alcohol based.  Try them on Rhinestones, Pearls, buttons and even ribbon.  That is only naming a few things.  Possibilities are almost endless.  Comment below with your favorite thing you color with your Blendabilities or what you want to try if you had some!

Today's featured card is one that we created at the Forget-ME-Not Card Keeper Class last week.  It was one of my favorites because it had lots of color and a nice big greeting with some simple embellishments.  You can easily change out the greeting to one of the other "Big On You" stamp sayings.  They are all so great!

Friday night I got together with my favorite people in the world.  A big group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators! There is not a better group of people anywhere.  Creative, Loving, Sharing women (men are welcome too just none in our group...yet) My friend Shirley Casey handed me this beautiful desktop calendar

Stampin' Up! Leadership~Continuing The Fun!

Last week I stopped my posts before I even got to the main event so I wanted to continue today with a few of the highlights from the Stampin' Up! leadership event.  If you think this looks like a blast (it was!) and you want to join my team so you can attend next year I would love nothing more. I took this last weekend off from blogging to spend some time with my family that lives 3 hours north of my rural Champaign County home.  I have 3 sisters, their families and my Father in the western Chicago suburbs.  I had a nice weekend.  The weather cooperated and my oldest daughter Hannah took some time to spend with her mom and I loved every minute of that.  I got to see almost everyone while I was up there for a visit, went to a great nephews basketball game (that was awesome and he is probably glad his great aunt lives far away, I can really get into the game)

I also got to see my 2 nieces who had birthdays on Saturday.  So nice to spend time with family. So nice to be home with mine too.

So back to my Orlando Florida leadership event. The actual convention started on Thursday morning with Bag pick up and check in and swapping!

This wonderful lady shared that although this apron is wonderful for showing off her swaps she couldn't wait to take it off.  It sure was handy to let others pick a favorite though. I got some fantastic samples to show my local customers!

Next we started out with a State of Stampin' Up! talk with Shelli Gardner who shared that Stampin' Up! is in great financial shape.

But she couldn't end her time on stage without showing us all a little stamping!  She is a very talented crafter and has a real eye for the eclectic. We are blessed to have her as the head of the company.

Even though leadership is all about business we are all still stampers at heart so it's fun to see anything and everything the "boss lady" has to show because we know it will be a real wow!

The day was filled with seeing old friends and meeting new friends.  My friend Betsy has been following Michelle Last and her blog for a very long time and so when we saw her Betsy needed a picture and I was happy to oblige! Check out Michelle's blog she is a very talented stamper from the UK and a most gracious lady. We really enjoyed visiting with her this day.

Lastly I just HAVE to share something special.  A gift from one of my roomies Sue Bell.  Gift(s) I should say!  These arrived in the mail in a big box the week before we left for Florida.  She said she didn't want to bring them in her luggage and you can see why.  What a surprise and such an amazing seamstress she is.  Check out the bag she sent me.  She said this was a gift she "owed" me from the last event we attended together.  I am over the moon about it and loved carrying it this weekend when I visited my family.  It's SO M.E.!

Isn't it beautiful!  There are SO many wonderful pockets inside and out.  It holds so much stuff yet keeps it organized too! I carried it this weekend when I went up to visit my family.  It was wonderful to hold ALL my stuff!

She also made each of us a lap quilt.  She knows I LOVE the color green so I am also in love with this project from the heart. Not to mention I am always cold and almost always am found with a blanket on my lap when I am sitting on the couch with my family in the evening. So this is the perfect gift for M.E.

M.E.'s 3 C's Coffee, Cookies and Card Class~Add Camraderie and CASE-ing

So today I held my "M.E.'s 3C's" class (I hold it every other Friday morning) but today's should have been called 5C's.  So many great friends (Camraderie) and a card I completely CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) from the Stampin' Up! blog this week.  It was made either by the great Patty Bennett or the equally great Michelle Last you can visit the post here.  Sometimes you just see a card and you love everything about it.  Here is my version of the card.

Stampin' Up! Leadership~Proper Attire

I have been having a lot of fun with a few new crafting "toys" at my house for awhile now.  A year ago I bought a Cameo Silhouette (an electronic computerized cutter for those who don't know) and a few months ago I saw a great deal on a heat press so I snatched it up and have been having fun using it. 

I decided that I was going to make all my room mates and my downline and my upline some type of creative T-shirt to wear not only at our event but something they could wear anytime and feel good about what they do and to share what they love.  I came up with this design

I thought it would be no big deal to do but I was OH so wrong and unfortunately my roomies had to hear about it.  Shame on M.E.  :-/ But they love me as much as I love them and they are all creative to the Nth degree so they got it! I mean if you are going to preach (or complain) do it to the choir right?!

I wish I would have taken pictures of the process, at least the evening my daughter and I had the 8 shirts laid out and how long it took us.  I cut the 8 colors of vinyl then took a week to "weed" out the little parts of the vinyl.  Any spare minute you would find me "weeding" vinyl.  None of them are perfect but if you can read line 3....nuff said! (if you can't it says "What you create doesn't have to be perfect" and I repeated that over and over to myself as I made these shirts.)

Then I had to cut apart each line perfectly and mix them all up so none had 2 colors too near their mate...oh my it was a comedy of errors that night!  So basically even though each shirt looks similar each shirt is different.  No two shirts are the same.

We had fun representing at Disney that day.  Even though it was definitely a jacket day we had to share a little glimpse of our matching "outfits".  Trust me we were tame compared to a lot of what I saw represented at Disney!  I decided that it was an excuse for adult women to dress up as their favorite character or princess.  It was CRAZY!

Here we all are. Note my dole whip.  While they wanted to take a picture all I wanted to do was eat that Dole Whip! LOL  My glasses are dark I think I was staring at it!  Look at that picture again and imagine me just staring at that ice cream deliciousness.  Funny right?!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Lastly we just had to have our picture taken with Mickey because it just didn't really feel like a complete trip without a picture with Mickey Mouse.  He was so wonderful.  He took the time to read Betsy's shirt from top to bottom so when he was done he "got us".  What a great mouse he really is!

Stampin' Up! Leadership~Day of Disney

On our second day we hit the Magic Kingdom basically running.  We opened it up at 9am and stayed until it closed at 9:00pm.  Remember we are not ALL spring chickens but we were energizer bunnies this day!  Here is a fun collage of just a peek of our day. Keep reading there is a card idea at the end I promise.

You can see we were wrapped up like eskimos.  The weather caughts most of us off guard and it was just plain cold.  Layers, layers, layers were in order.  The week before we got there it had been in the 80's and the day we left it was in the 70's but this week, not so much....it was cold.  Never got too much into the 60's.  I thought that coming from subzero conditions we would be comfortable but this was just not the case once the sun went down.  Lesson learned, 40's are 40's no matter where you are! LOL

One of the priorities for me and Shirley was to get a Dole Whip.  This was our first and we both are still talking about how good it was!  Delish! Can't wait to go back and have another one! How bout it Shirley?!

After that long day of park walking we were totally pooped out.  Our "camera woman" caught a few of us taking a short nap on the monorail on the way back to our car.

But it did not take long for us to perk up and enjoy a delish meal together on the way back to our condo.  I had crab-legs and although I was the last one eating it was so delicious I just couldn't stop!

Lastly I just have to share a card from my room-mate and friend Betsy Crider.  I love the design  It's a clean and quick card perfect for that...29th birthday perhaps?

Stampin' Up! Leadership~A Peek Into My Week

I just arrived home last night late from a week in Orlando Florida for a Leadership Conference for my Stampin' Up! business.  I was blessed to go a few days early with good friends from across the country and spend them at both Disney and Universal Studio before our conference started.  I want to share just a little glimpse into my week over the course of the next few days.  I hope you enjoy seeing how much fun we have as demonstrators! We started out with a selfie in the airport, you will note a theme in the selfie dept.  These were my travel-mates on my "adventure" this week.  My Upline (the lovely woman who introduced me to Stampin' Up! as a business) Meg Loven in the center and my "side-line" (the lovely woman who also was introduced to Stampin' Up! by Meg) Shirley Casey on the right.  We had such a lovely trip together!

Shirley and I could not go through Chicago-Ohare without a quick trip through the Garretts popcorn stand.  The Chicago mix is just to die for! Cheese Popcorn and Carmel corn mixed while you wait.  Do not knock it until you try it!  Yummy!

Once we got to Orlando we met 2 of our friends that we would be spending the week in a condo with and headed directly to the parks.  No time to drop our suitcases when there is riding to do! 

Sue Bell in the back is from Ohio and is also my sideline and great friend.  Betsy Crider waving so happily is my sideline and also my business accountability partner.  Betsy is from Pennsylvania.  I wanted to introduce you to these ladies because if you visit my blog this week you will see lots of pictures of them and I want you to know who they are. They are very special to me. 

Our first ride of the afternoon was the Dr. Seuss ride. Another selfie full of fun!  We wanted to get our money's worth after all!

I want to also share a design I came up with for a swap card that I shared at leadership.  I was rushed with all the projects I was doing before I left and didn't think I would be able to take swaps but late the night before I came up with a design that I rather liked. At first I wasn't sure but my daughter saw it and said "that is nice" and my son's girlfriend walked over to my desk and said "OH, that's Cute!" so I thought it was well received.  It's simple without embellishment which is not my usual style but I thought it was just right for this "Let's Get Away" stamp set in the Project Life line of products.

The Center images are stamped and punched out then attached to the base card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Arrow image with the greeting is cut out with paper snips and also popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. 

It seems like it was a very appropriate card to send to my girlfriends before this week...but since it was so last minute I shared it with them during our adventure instead.
