Today is my daughter Hannah's 26th birthday. She is currently my assistant so I do not have a lot of in studio time where she is not right there helping me with my business. Today I had to get up awful early to surprise her before she came over. I had her running a few errands in town for me to keep her out of the studio so I could make her this fun Birthday card. (after I baked a cake of course)
My daughter is a little goofy over this Stamp Set called Bella & Friends. She is over all puppy crazy right now but this puppy in Bella & Friends is a little bit like her own dog Peanut. So I had to color Bella to mimic Peanut. Peanut is part Scottie, part Jack Russell Terrier and part Chihuahua. She is a little cutie pie. She is always doing something cute so I thought on this card maybe she would tie a balloon to her tail and bring her Human Mom a cupcake (and a bone of course!) for her birthday. I know that sounds silly but sometimes it's just fun to make up a story with your artwork isn't it?
The card is simple watercoloring with my aqua painter and ink pads. I made "Peanuts" collar charm, bone and the cupcake stand out with a little bit of our fine tip glue pen. It acts like our crystal effects but maybe doesn't stand up as high. Definitely gives it a nice shine though when dry.
I finished up the candle on the cupcake with some gold wink of stella pen. It really glimmers and shines.
