I saw this idea of a box on Pinterest a couple of months ago by Kathleen Hopperstad and it totally intrigued me I believe she saw the idea from Martha Stewart (the Stampin' Up! demonstrator not the one on TV just want to make sure I give due credit).
I finally got around to making one and sharing it with my club members. We all loved it so much so I got busy and made a video for it. I think that is the best way to showcase it but even then it needs some additional directions here even though I have them on the video I am going to post the cutting and scoring measurements below.
Take a look at the video (if you are reading this on your email you must click through to my blog to view the video) and then check below for more details.
Measurements for Cardstock is as follows in case you didn't catch it on the video:
12 x 12 piece of cardstock cut down to 11 7/8" x 8 3/4"
Coordinating cardstock: 2 square Mats 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" and 6 pieces Mat pieces 2 3/4"" x 1 1/4"
Designer Series Paper pieces: 2 squares 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and 6 pieces 2 5/8" x 1 1/8"
With Large Paper in Landscape mode (long side on top) Score at 1 1/2" and 4 1/2" from each end.
Turn paper to Portrait mode (short side on top) 2 7/8" and 5 7/8"
Turn paper back to Landscape mode (long side on top) and using your Stampin' Trimmer (#126889) Cut in at 2 1/2" from top of paper down to first score line. Do this on both ends and top and bottom. Also cut between the 1 1/2" and 4 1/2" score lines. That should help you with the visuals on the video.
Make your box then have fun filling it with all kinds of goodies. Here I put some yummy cookies inside but at club we filled it with chocolate covered oreos that I had made for each of them! see below YUM!
Here is a picture of my alternative project a cupcake holder! Before you assemble the last part of the inside box just cut it down to 1" as shown. Make the insert as stated on the video 4 7/8" square scored 1" on all 4 sides cut out each of the square corners. Cut the circle with our new Circle Collection Framelits, these are going to be SO great for cutting circles where ever we want them...ie where no punch can ever hope to go.
